Safeway Open

Hadwin.jpgWhat better way to return to the scene of last season’s 66/1 winner in Kevin Tway, than having just landed a 66/1 winner, with Sebastian Munoz sealing victory in a playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship last night. I for one certainly went to bed happy, and didn’t have those Monday blues. Now when I say “scene of last season’s 66/1 winner”, I am of course talking about the Safeway Open, held at the Silverado Country Club, in Napa, California. It will once again be the North Course that tries to challenge the best that the PGA Tour can offer; however, with 4 fairly short Par 5’s, the previous winners have all shot a winning score of 14 under par or better in the last 4 years. So the guys are going to have to get their birdie boots on.

Adam Hadwin – Stake 0.80% (0.40% each-way) or £40 (£20 each-way)

A guy who certainly knows how to go low given his 59 last season. I was more than shocked to see odds of 80/1 on a guy of Hadwin’s calibre. He’s not in great form, but has had 2 top 10’s in the last 6 starts. Surprisingly he is 31st in Par 5 scoring which should stand him in good stead this week.

Harris English – Stake 0.60% (0.30% each-way) or £30 (£15 each-way)

Back in 2013 this guy could do no wrong, after claiming victories at the St Jude and OHL Classic he reached the top 50 in the world rankings. However, it was fall from grace that seen English struggling to keep his card over the past few seasons. He’s started the season in great form with 6th and 3rd place finishes, and another high finish this week could see him secure his card in super quick fashion.
