BMW Championship

Ian-Poulter-celebrates-winning-the-11th-holeThe FedEx Cup playoffs roll on, as the BMW Championship takes centre stage, at a venue that hosted one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history, as Europe came from 10-6 down on the final day to retain the Ryder Cup in 2012, now known as the miracle in Medinah. Whilst course 3 at Medinah hasn’t hosted PGA Tour event since the PGA Championship back in 2006, it will be a tough test for the 70 remaining players this week, measuring 7657 yards with a Par score of 72.

Billy Horschel – Stake 0.80% (0.40% each-way) or £40 (£20 each-way)

Much like the Reed selection last weekend, Horschel has done nothing to put me off backing him again. He putted like an absolute dream last week, but his ball striking was just a little bit ‘off’, which we know can be the case with Billy-Ho. He’s in a rich vein of form, having only missed one cut in his last 13 starts on tour, and with the only the Top 30 making it to the Tour Championship he needs another solid week.

Ian Poulter – Stake 0.80% (0.40% each-way) or £40 (£20 each-way)

How can you not back Poults at Medinah, the home of one of his greatest ever Ryder Cup moments, of which there are plenty. Much like Horschel, he is close enough to the Top 30 that a solid week will see him into the Tour Championship, but if he is close to the lead he will undoubtedly go for the win, rather than play it safe to secure a Top 30 spot. Coming of a 10th place finish at the St Jude, and an 8th place finish last week, the Englishman has hit some form at the right time.

I liked the look of both Oousthuizen and Speith before the odds were released, but both are a little too short given their inconsistencies at the moment.
