Houston Open

Lanto_0Houston, we have a problem? Well, let’s hope not. After a brilliant September, we look to continue that great form into the Autumn period. The Golf Club of Houston (formally Redstone Golf Club) hosts what looks like an extremely weak field, with last weeks 80/1 pick Brian Harman sat at a lowly 23/1. However, that does give another opportunity for some Korn Ferry Tour players to secure an all important PGA Tour card.

Lanto Griffin – Stake 1.00% (0.50% each-way) or £50 (£25 each-way)

A guy that I’ve shortlisted a couple of times this season, but never pulled the trigger, until now. He’s started 4 consecutive weeks on the PGA Tour with finishes of 13th, 11th, 17th and 18th, so with the aforementioned weakened field this could be the week he breaks through. He currently ranks within the Top 40 of every major statistic, so just needs to put it all together in Houston.

Richy Werenski – Stake 0.60% (0.30% each-way) or £30 (£15 each-way)

Having started the season with a 3rd place finish at the Greenbrier, he backed that up with a solid 18th place finish at the Sanderson Farms. He’s been very close to tour victory with 2nd place finishes at both the Barbasol and Barracuda Championships in recent years. Currently ranked 5th in strokes gained putting he has the game to claim a big win this week.
