Here we are in the middle of July, and the last major of the year is upon us. This time it’s the turn of Royal Portush to host this years Open Championship. Registering a modest 7,300 yards, it will once again come down to accuracy off the tee, and remembering to pack that hot putter.

After a little rocky patch a few months back, where he missed 3 straight cuts, Bryson has found form just in time. Coming off back to back Top 10 finishes, one of which was a 2nd place finish, narrowly losing out to Matthew Wolff. For me, he has the game to contend at Portrush, he ranks 21st in strokes gained off the tee, and 25th in strokes gained putting. It’s about time he started contending in majors if he’s going to make that step-up to the next level.

Matt Kuchar – Stake 1.00% (0.50% each-way) or £50 (£25 each-way)

Name a more consistent man on tour than Kuch, with 8 top 10’s and 12 top 25’s in just 17 starts so far this season. An it’s not difficult to see why when you look at the stats, if you rule out driving distance then Kuchar doesn’t rank outside of the Top 50 in any major category. He played the Scottish Open over the weekend where he finished in a tie for a 20th, and has nicely accustomed himself to the links style courses. It’s about time he got his hands on a Major.

Webb Simpson – Stake 0.60% (0.30% each-way) or £30 (£15 each-way)

If Matt Kuchar is the most consistent golfer on tour, then this guy can’t be far behind. Having won the US Open back in 2012 (in which I had money on him, just throwing that out there) he then showed his class again last year winning the Players Championship. Webb finished 12th in last years Open Championship, and takes solid form into this week. 100/1 in massive for a player of his quality.
